VIVEK KRISHNANI NAMED MANAGING DIRECTOR OF SONY PICTURES INDIA Mumbai,  October 20, 2015 …  Vivek Krishnani has been appointed Managing Director of Sony Pictures India (also known as SPE Films India). His appointment will be effective  November 1, 2015 . Under his leadership Sony Pictures India will handle all theatrical distribution for Sony Pictures Entertainment’s films. The evergreen dance anthem Eena Meena Deeka has been recreated for Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s forthcoming romcom Shaandaar.  Composed by Mikey McCleary, the peppy new version has been sung by Rachel Varghese. The popular number was originally part of Kishore Kumar’s Asha and this song played a big role in the movie’s success.  According to film historians the words of the song were inspired by children playing outside composer C. Ramchandra's music room. They were casually uttering the worlds  "Eeny, meny, miny, moe", which inspired the music director and his assistant to create the line "Eena Meena Deeka, De Dai Damanika".
