HRH THE DUCHESS OF CORNWALL TO VISIT LIVERPOOL’S BEATLES STORY TO COMMEMORATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BEATLES



The 50th anniversary celebrations of the Beatles were recently launched in Liverpool and are continuing throughout 2012. For fans across the world it’s definitely a great time to visit and we even have a very special guest coming in on April 4th to visit the Beatles Story. Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall, will be in Liverpool to tour the Beatles Story and commemorate the 50th anniversary of this legendary band. HRH THE DUCHESS OF CORNWALL TO VISIT LIVERPOOL’S BEATLES STORY TO COMMEMORATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BEATLES

HRH The Duchess of Cornwall will tour Liverpool’s award-winning Beatles Story attraction on Wednesday 4th April 2012. During the visit, Her Royal Highness will unveil a plaque to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the creation of ‘The Fab Four’. HRH will be given a tour of the exhibition by The Beatles Story’s Managing Director, Jerry Goldman, who will guide The Duchess as she explores the life and times of the iconic band. Her Royal Highness will be greeted at the entrance by a staff member dressed in a colourful Sgt. Pepper costume before being invited to meet members of The Beatles Story team. In The Cavern area of the attraction The Duchess will have the opportunity to see a short performance by The Mersey Beatles, one of the country’s leading Beatles tribute bands before moving on to The Beatles Story’s Discovery Zone where HRH will meet pupils from Liverpool’s Saint Vincent De Paul primary school. The visit will conclude with the unveiling of the 50th anniversary plaque specially commissioned for the occasion. The plaque will then be on permanent display for all visitors to the attraction. The Duchess of Cornwall expressed a specific interest in visiting the exhibition as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations which are taking place across Liverpool throughout 2012. Jerry Goldman, MD of Beatles Story comments: “It is a great honour to offer Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall a warm welcome as she visits the birthplace of The Beatles during our wonderful 50th anniversary celebration year. “We hope that she will gain a lot of pleasure from visiting the exhibition and finding out even more about the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band. “The children of Saint Vincent De Paul primary school are very excited about meeting Her Royal Highness in our Discovery Zone which uses the story of The Beatles to educate children in line with the National Curriculum. We sincerely hope she has a splendid time.”
