FILM FESTIVAL
YES! i am the Change – The pioneering initiative of YES Foundation aims at mobilising media for enabling social transformation
Mumbai; 1st October 2013:- Bollywood Superstar, Amitabh Bachchan and Rana Kapoor, Chief Mentor, YES Foundation felicitated the top 10 social filmmakers of YES! i am the Change - Film Making Project at a ceremony held in Mumbai today. YES! i am the Change is the maiden project of YES Foundation, the social development arm of YES BANK that provides the youth of the nation a platform to contribute to India’s social growth through filmmaking.
YES! i am the Change was launched in August this year wherein 500 teams comprising 2100 participants registered for the project pan-India. Amongst the films submitted, 60 best films will hit the big screen at YES! i am the Change Film Festival. The 2-day film festival is being held at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai on 2nd and 3rd October, 2013.
Eminent personalities like Shaheen Mistry, Prahalad Kakkar, Kailash Surendranath, Harish Iyer, among others have been mentors to the project and will conduct seminars and interact with youth at the festival.
Mr. Rana Kapoor – Chief Mentor, YES Foundation said, “YES! i am the Change is deeply rooted in the conviction that each one of us can make a little difference around us; and when collectively mobilised together, these efforts can create a world of change. I am extremely pleased that this pilot initiative of YES Foundation has received a heart warming response from the youth all over the country. My best wishes to all the participants, and I assure them that YES Foundation will provide them with all the necessary guidance and support to encourage them to use the medium of films as a tool for bring about the desired social transformation. Additionally, I convey my best regards to the ‘Super Star of the Millennium’ - Mr. Amitabh Bachchan for his invaluable support, he has extended to us in our maiden initiative.”
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan said, “It is my pleasure to be a part of the YES! i am the Change Social Film Festival. The young filmmakers have showcased immense creativity and strongly communicated the message of their partner NGOs through their respective movies. My heartiest congratulations to YES Foundation & Mr. Rana Kapoor on this unique initiative and I wish them the very best for all their future endeavours
The eminent jury panel for YES! i am the Change comprised of Pritish Nandy (Journalist, Poet, Media Personality), Lynn De’Souza (Founder, Social Access Communications), Rajeev Masand (Film Critic), Mukund Rajan (Chief Ethics Officer & Brand Custodian, Tata Sons), Parul Soni (Executive, Director & Leader Development Advisory Services, Ernst & Young) and Bunty Chand (Executive Director, Asia Society).
The event was attended by the likes of Poonam Dhillon, Aarti & Kailash Surendranath, Raell Padamsee, Vijaypath Singhania, Mukund Rajan, Ashni Biyani, Anjali Raina, and Nina Lath Gupta amongst others.

About YES FOUNDATION
YES FOUNDATION is the Socially Responsible initiative of YES BANK. The foundation was founded in December 2012 with a vision to contribute towards building an empowered and equitable India. The initial areas of intervention of the foundation will be focused on Media for Social Transformation, Stimulating Innovative Entrepreneurship & Capacity Building for Not-for-Profits.

Amitabh Bachchan along with Rana Kapoor inaugurated YES! i am the Change Film Festival and also, launched YES Foundation, the social development arm of YES BANK.
YES! i am the Change Film Festival is a 2 day fest organised by YES FOUNDATION, the soical development arm of YES BANK and will be held in Mumbai on 2nd and 3rd October 2013 at Hall of Culture, Nehru Centre, Worli Mumbai. A prescreened and selected 60 best short films on social causes will be screened at the 2-Day Film Festival with an aim to create awareness and engagement with social causes.
