The setup which is a sort of fusion of a police procedural with that of a traditional kung-fu flick starts off with a brief prologue which shows Yen as Xia, turning himself in at the police station after killing his exponent in a fight. So yen is in the dock until three years later when a serial killer who is targeting experts in different martial arts disciplines, emerges. Immediately after hearing a news report of one such victim, Yen's martial arts instructor Mo Hahou starts a prison brawl just to get the attention of its lead investigator (Charlie Yeung), allowing Yen the luxury of predicting the name of the others whom he claims would be next. Yen's portents come true one by one, and he gets a temporary release from prison to aid in the manhunt. It’s quite clear who the killer is – an unhinged psychopath called Fung Yu- sae (Wang Baoqiang) who loses his wife to cancer and is currently under the influence of a murderous motivation to prove himself the better than the best. In terms of plotting nothing comes as a surprise but then this is not a suspense thriller – just a stylized action oriented one. The narrative surely and steadily leads to a climactic showdown between Yen and Wang with some surprises in store regarding motivations.
This one certainly has what it takes to keep you thrilled!

#JaiHoDemocracy(Hindi) Rating: * * A political satire set around an asinine India-Pakistan border skirmish is just a little too contrived and unpalatable to curry favor. The piece-meal humor plays along as an after-thought. With too many similar movies that came before it, this one just doesn’t wing it! #RenukaGuptaPr #OmPuri #SeemaBiswas #AdilHussain #SatishKaushik #AnnuKapoor #RanjtKapoor #BikramjitSinghBhullar #IndianProductionHouse #
#RangEIshq( Hindi) Rating: *1/2 yet another version on the bloody, tragic-romance this one is neither accomplished nor satisfying. Treated with old-fashioned styling and amateurish crude flourishes, this one has new faces with skills better suited for horror tales and a DOP that doesn’t really know when to cut away from horrendous close-ups. #SanjayBhushanPR #HungamaPR #RudraAbhishekFilms #MatesEntertainment #SrinivasAnjanappa #JayveerPanghaal #MuzahidKhan #KavyaKiran #DeepakKumar
#KaagazKeFools(Hindi) Rating: * * A ridiculous drama that fails to live up to it’s funny title, this one just drains out all the excitement by adopting a moralistic and sermonizing tone. #HimanshuJhunjhunwala #DwaparMedia #FaisalKapadi #AnilKumarChaudhary #GlobeFilmyEntertainment #PVRPictures #VinayPathak #RaimaSen #MugdhaGodse #SaurabhShukla #
#IshqKeParindey(Hindi) Rating: * * ½ The best of the Bollywood lot this week, this one’s divined around Lucknowi tehzeeb, set within the elite set-up in Lucknow amidst palatial havelis and romantic ruins from the past- a violent action love story with fresh attractive faces, some meticulously designed moments to keep you engaged and interested. The ending though is a little too contrived to justify what came before it. #Altairmedia #AshwaniShukla #ShakirKhan #RishiVerma #PriyankaMehta #ShyamMorionPictures #VIPCinema

Runtime: 100 mins
Synopsis:
A vicious killer named Fung goes around Hong Kong killing top martial arts exponents and leaving a secret weapon called the Moonshadow as his calling card. When a convicted killer and kung fu expert named Ha - formerly working as a martial arts instructor before accidentally killing a man and being imprisoned and convicted for the crime he didn't intend to do - hears of this, he offers to help the police catch the killer in return for his freedom. With Ha's help, the police realize from the chronological order of the victims that the killer is targeting his victims, all top masters in their respective martial arts style, and following a martial code of training. After a close encounter with Fung, Ha suddenly disappears and the police begin to suspect the worse: that the two are accomplices and Fung was the bait to help spring Ha from jail. But Ha has actually gone back to his home in Foshan to find out more about the mysterious calling card. While doing so, he discovers the killer's
Review:
A remarkable comeback for Donnie (Ip Man) Yen, this contemporary martial arts display of ancient skills is strongly plotted with well rounded character studies and provides distinctive engagement with thrills, grip and poignancy. Donnie Yen’s latest reteams him with 'Bodyguards and Assassins' helmer Teddy Chan, which is why the narrative allows Yen's signature brand of hard- hitting action.
Lau Ho Leung and Mak Tin Shu's use of varied fight styling in the scripting from Chan's own story helps the thrills. The antagonist and the villain are both highly trained pugilists using their skills to kill rather than to protect allowing for ego and quests for supremacy, thus blinding them to the reality. Nothing new to that yet the narrative manages to pack a punch mainly because of Chan’s assured helming and agile performances from the two main leads. The plot Is just an excuse for more action and the performances are thankfully absent given the predilection for irrepressible action. The use of martial arts here makes complete and perfect sense with it’s gritty authenticity and homage centered framing. A true fan could spot many greats, among others – Mang Hoi, Tony Leung Siu-Hung, Tsui Siu-Ming, Yuen Cheung Yan and Sharon Yeung in cameos.
This one certainly has what it takes to keep you thrilled!
