Essel Group's Living Entertainment to launch 4 channels; Living Foodz to roll out on 11 Sep
MUMBAI: Essel Group's Living Entertainment is launching four channels in the lifestyle genre under the ‘Living’ brand.
Living Foodz will be the first to kick off. The food and lifestyle channel is scheduled to launch on 11 September.
Colors is No. 1 Hindi GEC
MUMBAI: For the first time in BARC ratings, Colors has overtaken Star Plus to take leadership position in the Hindi GEC genre.
As per BARC data for the week ended 28 August, Star Plus dropped marginally below Colors.
Broadcasters can enter into tripartite agreement under TRAI’s new tariff order for commercial subs
NEW DELHI: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has allowed broadcasters to enter into a tripartite agreement with the distribution platforms and the commercial subscribers. This relates to the supply of signals of TV channels to the commercial subscribers.
In its amended tariff orders, TRAI has also prescribed total forbearance of tariff at the wholesale and retail level for commercial subscribers.
MSM in JV with BBC Worldwide to launch Sony BBC Earth
MUMBAI: Multi Screen Media (MSM) has entered into a joint venture with BBC Worldwide to launch factual entertainment channel BBC Earth as Sony BBC Earth in India.
MSM will hold majority stake in the JV. “Sony BBC Earth is a joint venture (JV) between Multi Screen Media (MSM) and BBC Worldwide, with MSM owning the majority stake. This partnership with BBC Worldwide gives us an unparalleled edge in distributing factual programming to viewers across MSM’s network in India and to sharing with them some of the best television content ever,” MSM CEO NP Singh said.
Fever FM and Red FM Mumbai pick up Delhi and Mumbai
MUMBAI: HT Media has won big by picking up the lone frequency in Delhi. With a price tag of Rs 169 crore, Delhi was the most expensive city to be won.
In Mumbai, the two frequencies were picked up by HT Media and Digital Radio Broadcasting Mumbai, an associate company of Sun TV Network.
