The first song of Sudhir Mishra’s Daas Dev crooned by Atif Aslam launched
~Sudhir’s modern day Devdas starring Rahul Bhat as Devdas, Paro is Richa Chadha , Chandramukhi is Aditi Rao Hydari and Anurag Kashyap in a cameo to release across India on March 23~
Mumbai, February 22, 2018: ‘Sehmi Hai Dhadkan’, the first song of Sudhir Mishra’s upcoming feature, Daas Dev, crooned by Atif Aslam was launched yesterday.
Inspired from Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel, Sudhir’s modern day Devdas stars Rahul Bhatt as Devdas, Paro is Richa Chadha and Chandramukhi is Aditi Rao Hydari. The film also features the Mukkabaaz actor Vineet Singh, Saurabh Shukla and Vipin Sharma in key roles and Anurag Kashyap will be seen in an interesting cameo.
Sehmi Hai Dhadkan is composed by Vipin Patwa and written by Dr. Sagar.
“I found this song an interesting composition because of the lyrics and the way it was suppose to be sung. Especially the change of the music from the beginning to the end is very amusing. It is beautifully composed and I thoroughly enjoyed working for this song, I hope everyone loves it too” says Atif Aslam while sharing his thoughts on the song.
Praising Atif voice, Sudhir Mishra says, “Because like all great singers he has the capacity to bring out the emotional depth of a song but is never sentimental. The words are articulated so brilliantly but there is a touch of mystery. It has the capacity to mean different things to the listener at different times.”
The music composer Vipin Patwa adds, “Working with Sudhir Mishra is an experience in itself. Every moment is a learning curve with him. The best part is that his ideas are very unique and one cannot anticipate it at all. So one has to stretch his imagination and creativity to match up to him. One more point is that he is a great teacher and he loves as much as he scolds. It is an honour to be working with him”
Daas Dev is a reverse story of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Devdas dipped in Shakespearean influences. If Devdas was a journey from a noble person to a 'Das', this is a journey from 'Das', a person who is a slave to his addictions and to the dynastic ambitions of his family to ‘Dev’. Set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh, ‘Daas Dev’ is a film about power, love and addiction.
Produced by Sanjjeev Kumar, Gaurav Sharma and Manohar P Kanungo and presented by Saptarishi Cinevision Production and Storm Pictures, Daas Dev is set to release across India on March 23
