Picks and Piques/Snippet Film Reviews 8thNov2013/Johnson Thomas

Satya 2(Hindi): Rating: *  * ½  It’s not exactly a sequel- RGV tries to explore  another aspect of the underworld story , this time round it’s more conceptual and doesn’t have the class or conviction of his best work(Satya or Company). Despite the weak-linked story and poor performances the film does manage to strike a chord of empathy for it’s hapless lead characters.
Thor 2:   The Dark World(English 2D/3D/Imax) :Rating: *  *  *   Too much dependence on technology makes this part funny showy intergalactic adventure enjoyable if not memorable. It’s definitely better than the first edition and that’s saying a lot!


Free Birds(English/Animation/2D/3D): Rating: *  * Too indistinct and perfunctory to be exciting. The animation and 3D effects do not add up to any visual glory!
