Objections Raised on Ram Gopal Varma’s movie title’ Bruce Lee’ by Chitah Jeet Kune Do
Mumbai.Objections is being raised on use of title Bruce Lee by Ram Gopal Varma for his upcoming movie. Chitah Yagnesh Shetty, founder & president of CHITAH JEET KUNE-DO GLOBAL SPORTS FEDERATION in India, has submitted a letter of concern to RGV’s office. “We have submitted the letter to Ram Gopal Varma’s office and we have not yet received a reply,”said Chitah Yagnesh Shetty.
“Ram Gopal Varma, whose name is synonymous with sensations and controversies, is said to be shooting the female-centric film idea.“RGV seems to go all out to take advantage of icon’s image and his popularity, but surprisingly he should have been responsible enough to take the necessary rights before going for Announcement of the film.’ BRUCE LEE FOUNDATION has forwarded the concern to legal team to decide further course of action as per international copy right law”, says Yagnesh Shetty.
Chitah Yagnesh Shetty has trained more than 110 Bollywood and Hollywood stars spanning over 3 generations and is vying for Guinness Book of records for the same. Asked about his reasons for the protest, Yagnesh Shetty says “I am the student of Richard Bustillo, who is the senior most student of Bruce Lee and founding member of the California based Bruce Lee Foundation. He was also the Jeet Kune Do Instructor to Bruce Lee’s children, Brandon Lee and Shannon Lee. When there are important issues related to Bruce lee and his legacy, I have to report to Richard Bustillo. This is a clear cut case of copyright infringement and as I understand that neither RGV nor anyone else has taken permission nor informed BRUCE LEE foundation to use the legends name.”
Currently Yagnesh Shetty’s organisation has trained almost 50,000 women in self defence in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Uttarakand. The movement is being spread to more towns and cities.
