On Sunday 8th December
Shahrukh Khan released Deanne Panday’s new book Shut Up and Train, for which he has also written a foreword, at the
Palladium Hotel, Lower Parel
“Being fit is important
in my line of work. To be able to work for 12 hours a day—from 7 in the morning
to 7 in the evening—you need to have a certain level of fitness...But to
develop physical strength, you first need to have mental strength. I always
tell my children you don’t need to have big biceps, but a big heart; your mind
has to be tougher than your quads. The rest will follow. The physical
attributes—the manifestation of a strong mind—will be seen in a strong body. It
will never be the other way round...I think you have to think fit, believe fit”
Shahrukh Khan from his foreword to the book
Shahrukh Khan from his foreword to the book
As one of the country’s foremost
fitness experts and trainer to some of India’s fittest, hottest and most
successful people for over 15 years, Deanne Panday knows the secrets to a
healthy lifestyle. And in Shut up and Train she lays out the
methods to help us all gain not muscles and six-packs but overall wellbeing,
having more energy to do day-to-day tasks more effectively and to stop ageing
in its tracks.
She argues that to achieve this diet,
exercise and mental attitude all play their part but the basis of it all is
weight training. If you want your body
to be fit and injury free, your muscles to be strong, your bones to be healthy,
and your organs to be in good shape, you need to train with weights.
“Being
fit is a way of life for me, the foundation of what makes me strong and
resilient...I can manage all life throws at me without a dip in my energy by
being disciplined and following a balanced approach to life, just like our
ancestors. It’s a lifestyle that is available for you too if you go about it
the right way. In the years that I have
managed to cultivate this disciplined lifestyle, my most treasured formula has
been weight training. Not only has
weight training made me stronger, it has helped me understand every muscle in
my body. It keeps my immune system in top gear. I sleep better, and I have more
energy during the day. It has enabled me to handle whatever is thrown my way.”
Through
Shut Up & Train, Deanne Panday
will guide you through the right methods, the right kind of education of your
body, and also the steps that you need to follow for this foolproof method to
work. This comprehensive book provides you with a blueprint to a fit and
healthy body.
As
Deanne says, ‘It’s time to SHUT UP, and get ready to TRAIN!’
