Mumbai, April 22, 2016:  After the critically and commercially successful thriller, Lucia, the director-writer-producer, Pawan Kumar, is back with another Kannada language thriller, U-Turnwhich is slated to release across India on May 20, 2016.

Marking Drishyam Films' foray into distribution, the film will release with English subtitles in the rest of the country on the same day it will hit the screens in Karnataka. Drishyam Films will be distributing 'U-Turn' across India, outside the Karnataka region. 

The film will release in screens across multiple cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trivandrum, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara etc. 

Featuring Shraddha Srinath, Roger Narayanan (of Hola Venky fame), Radhika Chetan and Dilip Raj in the main roles, the mystery thriller revolves around a young journalist who finds herself entangled in a murder case while working on a story on traffic rule breakers.





The film is produced by 'Audience Films' in collaboration with 'Pawan Kumar Studios Pvt Ltd'.

Pawan's previous film, Lucia was a critical and commercial success. It was the first Kannada film to be entirely crowd funded and won the Audience Choice Award at the London Indian Film Festival. The film was also remade in Tamil as Enakkul Oruvan starring Siddharth and Deepa Sannidhi.

Excited about the film's worldwide release, Pawan narrates U-Turn's incredible journey.  "In 10 months, we have gone from ideation to release. I am hoping that this film will make all the patrons of Lucia happy again. The film will be premiering at the prestigious New York Indian Film Festival on May 8. In over 75+ years of Kannada cinema, very few Kannada films including Lucia and U-Turn have had an international premiere. We hope this will make way for more Kannada cinema to be introduced to the world," says Pawan.

Synopsis of U-Turn

The mystery thriller revolves around a young journalist who finds herself entangled in a murder case while working on a story on traffic rule breakers. As the cops question her, things go from bad to worse, and both the cops and the girl are in for a lot of surprises as they try to solve the mystery.
