#DumbAndDumberTo(English) Rating: * * Flatulent reprise of a 20 year old money-spinner. Takes the rude, risqué and infantile route to crude buddy romp with bathroom humor and bodily fluids gags serenading the physical comedy. #MoesArt #SajitaJain #JimCarrey #JeffDaniels #PeterFarrelly #BobbyFarrelly
English Film review
Johnson Thomas
Off-putting comedy
Film: Dumb and Dumber too
Cast: Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels
Director: Peter and Bobby Farrelly
Rating: * *
The original directors of the 20 years ago, smash-hit physical, in-bad-taste comedy starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as Lloyd and Harry- incorrigible pranksters who take Laurel and Hardy mechanics to reprehensible depths while trying to hot-foot each other or anyone around, reprise the same ticks, gimmicks and stale jokes in this sequel which takes them on a road trip to find a child that Harry never knew he had.
Infantile flatulent farce with stinking you-see-it-coming from a mile jokes, this one doesn’t have anything new to offer other than Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels trying to resurrect their lost glory without much success. The dim-witted pals set out on a road trip and as expected bring the house down ( if you can call it that?)with adult nappy changes, racists slurs, sexist taunts and numerous insults to humanity in general. After twenty years, this is what you get in the name of fun?
The Farrelly’s are obviously aiming for high returns with this re-run of bad taste. And with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in the driving seat at least there’s some hope for all-t-oo-brief forays into respectability. Both are rubbery and in fine fettle but the writing is stale and out-of-touch. There’s really not much fun to be had despite the all-out effort to create it. Deplorable, really!
