Jurassic World is managed by Claire and is owned by flamboyant entrepreneur Masrani (Irrfan Khan). given the previous bad experience with the park being forced to shut down one would think that the neo park owner and manager would have the intelligence not to go for the kill in order to interest new entrants. Sure enough, there’s a creepy new GM mega-dinosaur that’s been secretly created to boost visitor numbers: it’s called Indominus Rex, created by lab supremo Dr Henry Wu (BD Wong) and watched over by the sinister military consultant Hoskins (Vincent D’Onofrio). And you know for sure that once it’s been released in the park, there’s no stopping the mayhem. Owen( Chris Pratt) a raptor wrangler and dinosaur whisperer has a thing for Claire but they only get cuddly when they have to pull off a rescue. Owen has trained prehistoric carnivores to do his bidding for the tourists and he follows the Indiana Jones template. The two warring love-birds are primed to rescue two boys from the upcoming dino catastrophe in order to bring Owen and Claire together.
It’s unbelievable that all that intelligence has gone to naught. Profits are the only criteria and human life is put at risk. It’s not only true of the narrative but also of the concept itself. There is no accounting for any proper content either. The romantic track is just not interesting, the body count remains low and the effects are pretty much feeble that you cannot get a rise out of anything that transpires on screen. Sound and fury are mitigated in high-end techno-snazz but the awe remains transitory. It never stays with you. Also, despite the carnivore capitulation into man eating beasts, there’s no fear factor to be had. The dialogues are tripe most of the time and the generic flashiness that Trevorrow throws at you, fails to thrill. His set pieces which include a dive-bombing flock of pterodactyls and an absurd crowd-pleasing climax entertain but never terrify. You never experience the danger that was so prominent in the Jurassic park experience. Even the CGI looks fake for most of it. The assemblage is such that you see but don’t react. 3D and Imax may magnify the experience but it won’t create any special zing that could offset the high price of a ticket. This 3rd sequel which cost thereabouts 180 million may rake in the moolah in a short span but it’s not going to stay in anyone’s memory for longer than the duration of the film itself.

#HamariAdhuriKahani(Hindi) Rating: * ½ Corpulent mess- and I am not talking about the narrative alone. It’s Better left unsaid. A woe-b-gone extra-marital love story that comes across as forced and extremely intransigent. The ‘thanda’ zero chemistry pairing of a chunky looking #EmraanHashmi(I don’t know what I am doing look on his face) with a podgy #VidyaBalan(looking perplexed throughout)doesn’t allow for any affecting dramatics other than that of the puerile kind. It’s by far the weirdest love story I have seen ..and it has the most confounding unpalatable dialogues I have heard. Even the songs which usually are the highlight of a #MohitSuri film, lack memorability. #RajKumarRao tries hard to make his presence felt but the overall incredulity was just too galling for that to take effect. #MaheshBhatt(Story), #ShaguftaRafique(Dialogues) & #MohitSuri(Direction) we expected much better from you!#BalajiMotionPictures #EktaKapoor #FoxStarStudios #HemanshuMestry #VijaySingh
#JurassicWorld(English/2D/3D/Imax) Rating:* * Dino-SOUR! 22 years later the Spectacle has been extended from Park to World but the fear factor is missing! Well past it’s fly-by date this ‘brand’ishment has the ‘mite’ in terms of CGI and techno-giz with exec-producer #StevenSpielberg looking on dolefully but lacks the soul that made his original sci-fi fantasy adventure thriller a must-see. Even #IrrfanKhan’s presence can add only dubious weight to this ‘monster’ production. Aimed at cultivating the new-gen viewers, this one may manage to momentarily ‘awe’ you(that’s if you are easy to please) but there’s no take home! #ColinTrevorrow #UniversalPictures #MoesArt #JascintoFernandes #ChandrasekharNeeli
#TheDuff (English) Rating: * ½ A dead bore! A tiresome teen romedy that bases it’s premise on an acronym and takes the formulaic track to curry favor amongst the easily pleased teen audience. This is basically ‘junk food’ for the brain if you are the kind who likes to be in-line with a trend. #DebparnaBanerjee #AbhinavChohan #OindrillaChakraborty #CBSFilmsRelease #MVPEntertainment

#TheAgeOfAdaline(English) Rating: * * * ½ A superbly plotted timeless romance that draws you in with conviction and grit in spite of it’s confounding preposterous premise. Synopsis: Twenty-two years after Jurassic Park opened on Isla Nubar, a dinosaur-themed resort in Costa Rica, attracts thousands of visitors each year, just as John Hammond envisioned. However, the interest is beginning to fade and a deep dip in turnout forces the park owners and managers to rethink avenues to revitalize the park. The new effort however, is rooted in danger and risk. Once again mankind's attempts to interfere with nature bring ominous results
Review:
Billionaire John Hammond’s dream has seen fruition. Jurassic World Dinoland, the dinosaur theme park has been successfully operational for more than a decade. The nightmare of Jurassic Park’s uncooperative velociraptors and grumpy T. rex’s are from the past, well forgotten it seems. Then attendance starts to wane and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), the workaholic park manager obsessed with profit margins, announces to her staff at the start of the film “No one’s impressed by a dinosaur anymore. They need to be bigger, louder and with more teeth!” Of course, there’s no doubting that new attractions are needed to keep the tourists coming.
It’s unbelievable that all that intelligence has gone to naught. Profits are the only criteria and human life is put at risk. It’s not only true of the narrative but also of the concept itself.
