#ABCD2(Hindi/3D) Rating: * * All Dance, crumbling opportunistic storyline, showy effects and a distinct lack of direction. It’s ‘HappyNewYear’ with better dance choreography and lesser fun moments. #VarunDhawan & #ShradhaKapoor can dance but the excitement and passion of the first edition is missing. It’s all skill and no heart on show here with too many unpalatable Hinglish hip-hop numbers adding to the tedium. The choreography and 3D depth are distinct. The rest is clumsy!

#Spy ( English/Action-Comedy) Rating: * * * cute and spoofy, this spy comedy on the lines of Pink Panther, Austin Powers, Johnny English and many others, with a overweight lady spy scores it’s hits with wild dialogue and clumsy slap-stick. The film also has our #NargisFakhri in a decent action oriented role and she is quite a delight! It’s a joy ride for most of it’s runtime with #MelissaMcCarthy and #JasonStatham’s overdone mouthiness derailing the fun in intermittent bursts! #MelissaMcCarthy #JasonStatham #NargisFakhri #JudeLaw #RoseByrne #PaulFeig #BobbyCannavale #AllisonJanney #MirandaHart #FoxStarPictures #ShrutiSundaram
#Entourage(English) Rating: * ½ Insipid version of a glorified TV show, this overblown and formulaic entourage may be big but it’s flabby and overweight too. Punctuated by star cameos, it's a mindless, not-so-amusing satire that desires to be taken on show but fails to captivate or interest. #DougEllin #RobWeiss #KevinConnolly #AdrianGrenier #KevinDillon #JerryFerrara #JeremyPiven #EmmanuelleChriqui #PerreyReeves #RexLee #DebiMazar #ConstanceZimmer #HaleyJoelOsment #RondaRousey #EmilyRatajkowski #BillyBobThornton #LiamNeeson #WarrenBuffet #MarkWahlberg #WarnerBros #AnkitAgarwal

Robust comedy
Film: Spy
Cast: Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, Nargis Fakhri,
Director: Paul Feig
Rating: * * *
Runtime:120 mins
Synopsis: A desk bound CIA analyst Susan(Melissa Mc Carthy) is anxious, awkward and eager to please, her intelligence and competence in perpetual struggle with her low self-esteem. She’s eager to get out of the rut and volunteers to go undercover to infiltrate the impregnably secured world of a deadly arms dealer in order to prevent global disaster. Once in the field, she undergoes a transformation that is all the more entertaining because it’s kind-of way out of left field!
Review:
Melissa McCarthy, after scoring a hit with ‘The Heat’ also directed by Paul Feig, seems to have got the Hollywood head honchos agreeable on her stand-up talent. And here she is, ready to kick butt and spew fire as a solo comedic super spy, given her first field job with none of the accoutrements of James Bond to keep her company-She has her own unique mouthy talents and does well to throw her weight around-enough to set her opponents back by a few weeks, if not forever.
Susan Cooper is Super agent Bradley Fine(Jude Law)’s eyes in the back of his head. She’s the one directing his escapes from tricky situations. So when Fine’s mission unearths the fact that the big-time European arms dealer Rayna Boyanov (Rose Byrne)knows the identities of all the CIA’s current field agents, they have to send in someone she won’t possibly know. Someone like Susan, who excelled at the CIA training academy but has been deskbound ever since.
McCarthy is great as a stand-up comic who uses her mouth to fire verbal bullets at her opponents and she does it quite fluently but the banter thereof doesn’t always allow for humorous entertainment. The good ones are there and so are the bad ones. You can laugh at some, some may even make you smile while the rest just sound overdone. McCarthy’s cutesy appeal, the manner in which she throws her weight around and her unflagging zeal, lends heart. Counter-punchers all- Jason Statham in a bumbling avatar, Jude Law, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Allison Janney and Miranda Hart add star value and fun to the outing.
Nargis Fakhri of Rockstar fame, has a decent international outing with a brief action oriented role. This one’s both appealing and fun!
