M2WRAI: 30 to 45 per cent of Motorbike Spares and Accessories or 2 in 6 Products Sold in India are fake According to a survey conducted by the Motor Bike and Two-Wheeler Riders Association of India ( M2WRAI ), in the five cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai about 30 to 45 per cent of motor bike spares, accessories and related products sold in India are either duplicates, fakes or "first copy" products. Helmets, lighting gear, high end head protection and body protection and safety gear accounts for about 50 per cent of the fakes sold in the country, the M2WRAI survey has found. “Even in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai there are posh stores stocking spurious goods which look so alike that even a professional biker is sometimes taken for a ride,” Nilesh Mehta spokesperson for the M2WRAI said.
