Dear friends, Greetings on behalf of ViBGYOR International Film Festival for short & documentary films, held in Thrissur, Kerala, India from February 7-12; this is the 8th edition of the festival and the special focus theme of ViBGYOR-2013 is `stolen democracies'; but there are other permanent categories and theme packages apart from this. Please look at www.vibgyorfilm.org for details. There is a selection preview process for all films entered as `open entry' under different film categories; and there is an entry fee of INR300 for films from inside India and $10 (via PayPal) for films from overseas. The time frame for year of production is: `films released after January 1, 2011'. Since we wish to include strong films that represent different nations/regions that would fit well with our thematic framework, in special cases we do consider a waiver of entry fee/production period restriction. This contest is especially designed to provide a platform for debutant filmmakers to showcase their talent and connect with the top filmmakers, producers, film investors & lenders. The short films of finalists will be screened at COFFI – Conference on Film Finance. Project 11 – releases online on Dec 1st! Project 11, India’s first short collaborative film that was shot in 11 cities of the World, at 27 different locations, with combined crew strength of over a 100 people belonging to 13 different ethnicities, is all set to release online on Dec 1st. In its long journey of film festivals, it won the Best Sound Award at Imphal International Short Film Festival 2012, premiered at Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival 2012, showcased in the Panorama section of Budapest Shorts Film Festival (Busho 2012), Hungary, and Gandhara Film Festival in Pakistan. The film generated a lot of buzz last year, when true to its numbers theme, the 11 min 11 sec long film had premiered at 11:11 AM on 11.11.11 on www.glamsham.com . Ajay Bahl's debut feature 'B A Pass' raises the bar for Quality Independent Hindi Cinema

Ajay Bahl’s celebrated first feature has been winning accolades across festivals world over. B.A. Pass was part of the   Festival des films du monde   First Films World Competition, and Bahl received widespread kudos from the audience for tackling a challenging subject without being exploitative.   The film had it’s India premier at Osian’s Cinefan Film festival where in it’s   first ever public screening   it received a standing ovation from the   fifteen hundred strong audience. The festival's Indian competition section awarded the best film to Ajay Bahl' s B.A. Pass , anointing it as an   edgy “Delhi-noir” drama. The film also won it’s lead actor,   Shadab Kamal , a theatre artist , the best actor award. Currently the film is showing at the Kolkata film festival from where it will go to France.
