President gives away 36th Jamanalal Bajaj Awards Mumbai : November 15,2013 President Shri Pranab Mukharji has given away prestigious 36th Jamanalal Bajaj awards to four distinguished personalities today in Mumbai. Speaking on the occasion the President said Jamanala Bajaj Awards are instituted 34 years ago and they are the sign of honoring selfless public service . Shri Jamnalalji, in whose memory these awards are instituted was a prominent freedom fighter and a well known philanthropist. His commitment to Gandhiji was total. Jamanalalji was one businessman who was deeply involved in the fight against the British rule. He further said constructive contribution to society is not less than a freedom fight and the life and work of these awardees give inspiration to others.
