Sterling Media awarded with the top accolade at the The Drum Creative Awards after being named the judges’ “Grand Prix” winners as well as also picking up the “Film-Online” award at last night’s event on Thursday 30th November 2017 at the Emirates Stadium in London for the iconic and inspirational #WhatIReallyReallyWant video. The award winners were announced at a glamorous ceremony which recognised and celebrated the achievements of the digital and creative industry over the past year. Sterling Media was engaged to launch and popularise the film #WhatIReallyReallyWant globally, securing mass coverage in media in Europe, USA, India, the Far East, Australia and Africa. Sterling also secured talent such as Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez, who opens the film. The video received support from high profile personalities such as Spice Girls Victoria Beckham, Melanie C and Emma Bunton on Social Media, the public and international media to help it generate a staggering 150 million views online in just a few days of its launch. The video was the 3rd highest trending topic in UK on Facebook in the first 24 hours after release. Sterling Media is an international business and communications consultancy established in 1995 to represent countries, corporates, consumer brands, celebrities, charities, governments and thought-leaders. The company is recognised for being at the nexus of convening government, corporate, media, NGOs and celebrity, to help develop incisive business and communications strategies to bring clients closer to their purpose and ultimately the people they wish to reach. STERLING MEDIA’S GLOBAL COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN FOR #WHATIREALLYREALLYWANT WINS THE "GRAND PRIX" OF AWARDS AT THE DRUM CREATIVE AWARDS 2017 & BEST “FILM-ONLINE” The award-winning global PR and viral campaign for the film #WhatIReallyReallyWant by Project Everyone, supported by Getty Images and SAWA and launched by the international communications agency Sterling Media, has ended the year on a high after being awarded the prestigious top accolade “Grand Prix” as well as the “Film-Online” award at the Drum Creative Awards 2017. The awards took place on Thursday 30th November at the Emirates Stadium, London, and the glamorous ceremony and dinner recognised and celebrated the achievements of the digital and creative industry over the past year. Sterling Media was shortlisted for the Film-Online category alongside several other innovative and creative online campaigns, but it was the iconic and inspirational #WhatIReallyReallyWant video that was honoured as the winning entry. This would not be the only award the film would win however, as at the climax of the ceremony, #WhatIReallyReallyWant was named the winner of the "Grand Prix". Selected by the judging panel, which included Kat Hann, Regional Head of Creative Shop, Facebook, this was the Drum Creative Award’s highest honour. The campaign was praised by the judging panel for its powerful message and called it ‘a perfect piece of advertising’. These awards are the consultancy’s latest accolades at the end of an incredibly successful 2017 for Sterling Media. The film #WhatIReallyReallyWant also recently received the Best Video/Video Website award at the Drum DADI Awards and Sterling Media was presented with an award at the British Media Awards for the film in May. In September 2016, World Leaders marked the first anniversary of the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals. These Global Goals are a mighty plan to end poverty, fix climate change and address inequalities over the next 15 years, but they will only succeed if they address the needs of the most marginalised first, particularly those of girls and women. Issues like quality education, an end to violence, an end to child marriage and equal pay for equal work need to be at the top of every government’s agenda in order to give the Goals the best possible start. Founded by renowned filmmaker Richard Curtis for the United Nations and supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Project Everyone launched the United Nations’ Global Goals signed by 193 world leaders at the UN General Assembly in September 2015. In 2016, Project Everyone, with partners from across the world, convened the first Global Goals campaign with a focus on fighting and achieving Goals which are salient, financed and focused on girls and women. On the 20th anniversary of the release of the Spice Girls’ Wannabe video, an updated short version of the iconic track was launched, “#WhatIReallyReallyWant”, to mark twenty years of Girl Power. The film reflects the voices of girls and women all over the world telling world leaders what Goals they ‘really really want’ to be achieved to help improve their lives. The campaign was supported by Getty Images and SAWA. Sterling Media was engaged to launch and popularise the film globally, securing mass coverage in media in Europe, USA, India, the Far East, Australia and Africa. Discussing the extraordinary double win at the Drum Creative Awards, Natasha Mudhar said, “We are honoured to have been awarded the Grand Prix and Film–Online awards at the Drum Creative Awards. It is exciting to see #WhatIReallyReallyWant recognised alongside cutting edge online films of the creative industry. The campaign received a spectacular response online, with the film receiving millions of views across social media platforms within hours. In the year since its debut, it is clear that the campaign #WhatIReallyReallyWant was meaningful and made an impact in spreading the message of female empowerment; it is rewarding to see its influence continue to be acknowledged. Thank you to the Drum Creative Awards judges for honouring #WhatIReallyReallyWant for this great accolade.” Sterling Media is an international business and communications consultancy established in 1995 to represent countries, corporates, consumer brands, celebrities, charities, governments and thought-leaders.
