Gali Gali Chor Hai Premiered at Ralegaon Siddhi with Anna Hazare and 2000 villagers

A new tack for an industry mostly concerned with raking in the moolah at any cost . In a first(most filmmakers prefer to prostrate their films at the feet of political thugs) for any mainstream production house, the makers of the Akshaye Khanna, Shreya Saran, Mugdha Godse starrer 'Gali Gali main Chor Hai' travel all the way to Anna's conservative hamlet 150 kms away from Pune in order to screen it for the man whom most politicians love to hate-their bette-noire, Anna Hazare, who has been campaigning endlessly for the anti-corruption cause giving the political bigwigs endless sleepless nights.
Producer Nitin Manmohan along with Director Rumy Jafry and Star Cast Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran, Mugdha Godse and Anu Kapoor showcased their Upcoming film "Gali Gali Chor Hai" releasing on 3rd Feb 2012 to Anna Hazare along with his 2000 villagers at his village Ralegaon Siddhi.

The film was shown on an Specially Created LED wall screen in an open auditorium.

A frail looking Anna greeted and welcomed the Star Cast of the film and praised them for their effort. During his address at the felicitation function at the village stadium, He hoped that the middle-class audience of the film would find time away from their worldly cares to come out in stronger numbers to voice their anger against administrative corruption.Anna seems to have understood the lessons he learnt from the Mumbai experience which virtually shut-down his finely orchestrated campaign against corruption.

Though unwell, Anna Hazare watched the whole film and after watching the film he spoke to a few media persons and was immediately whisked away to his abode for some much needed rest. Before he left, he said " I wish for a corruption free India and hope more people from different walks of life and fields come together to fight for this universal cause. A film can send out a strong message and since the film medium has a far wider reach than any organised campaign it is possible that this satire about a common man's travails with the law and it's protectors will touch a chord enough to wake up those who have hitherto not made it a point to raise their voices against corruption. 'Gali Gali Main Chor Hai' is a film about a common man's struggle against corruption, it can reach out to many more people." Anna also made it a point to extort his followers to make sure they themselves were corruption free before joining in on the fight against corruption.

Nitin Manmohan, the Producer of the film was only too happy at the stunning reception accorded to the cast and assisting crew by Annaji, the sarpanch and villagers. He said "this was the best Premier I could ever imagine for my film. I got the perfect audience for my film and I am humbled by the love and affection accorded to my cast and crew." He added ,"I experienced the audience watching, laughing, smiling, crying along with my film. I was thrilled to see Anna's reactions while watching my film. 2000 villagers stood up and clapped and that was my reward."

Akshaye Khanna, Rumy Jafry and rest of the cast including Shreya Saran, Mugda Godse, Annu Kapoor also watched the film seated besides the great man.

"I was sitting next to Anna and every gesture and expression from the great man was complement to our efforts. When he was laughing, clapping, those were my best memories, experiencing it live sitting along with him. It was a Proud Feeling" said Rumy jafry. Akshaye Khanna and the other cast members were happy with the vociferous ovation they received from the assembled villagers.
