Hollywood International CineFest announced its lineup for 2018: Two Indian Films Compete for Top Honors Los Angeles, CA, September 28, 2018--- Hollywood International CineFest has announced its exciting line up for its 2017 festival edition. Two Indian films- #TailingPond by #SauravVishnu and #AnandhaYaz (The Harp’s Resonance) by #BShivkumar have made their way into final 5. Inclusion of films, by 1st time Indian directors attests the growing influence of Indian directors in Hollywood. “In past, an Indian youth wouldn’t have thought beyond becoming a doctor or an engineer. It is heartwarming to see the Indian youth venturing into non-tradition fields like cinema’, said Rakesh Kumar, a member of HICF selection committee. Tailing Pond is a hard-hitting documentary that investigates India’s uranium program’s human cost to Jadugora, India’s tribal people, and the government’s complicity in violating their health and human rights over decades. “If you watched Fahrenheit 9/11 or An Inconvenient Truth, then be prepared to be blown away by this film”, said Zack Zublena, Festival Director. Anandha Yaz is a touching story of a child in the autism spectrum, whose parents find ways to keep their kid comfortable. This movie highlights the challenges faced by the children in the autism spectrum in a bitter-sweet way. “Through completely different from each other in content and style, both Indian films have a particular sensivitity and an un-mistabeable touch of the great Indian culture” added Zublena. The 2018 line up includes films from America, UK, India, France, China, South Korea, Cambodia and Hong Kong. Hollywood International CineFest was founded with the goal of connecting independent film-makers with distributors. 2 Feature films, 3 short Films and 2 Screen found their distribution home through the festival. In 2017, the festival received over 600 submissions. The festival will be held at 8000 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles on September 29th and September 30th 2
