Shiamak’s philosophy of “Have Feet. Will Dance.” will be proved once again at the spectacular Summer Funk 2012, Mumbai by the students of Shiamak’s Summer Workshop. With performances in Shiamak Style, ShaBop, Theatre Jazz, Bollywood Jazz and Jive & Rock’n’Roll, the show will be a fabulous journey of dance around the world. ‘Mumbai is the center of performing arts in India. The energy and enthusiasm here is inspiring. Students and parents are so supportive of the performing arts, and the growth of my classes here is testimony to that!’ says Shiamak. With celebrity children joining Shiamak’s dance classes to hone their talent from a young age, the show will be attended by A-list Bollywood stars cheering for their own kids and family members, and of course the remaining students on. The audiences are in for special treat. Shiamak has been working on his new Pop Music Album, which is due for release later in June. Shiamak will screen his first music video for the very first time at Summer Funk. Shiamak’s fans will finally get to hear him sing again. Shiamak choreographed the Zee Cine Awards, Chevrolet Apsara Awards, IPL opening ceremony and Femina Miss India this year already. Performing for Oprah Winfrey, choreographing Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and earning an honorary Doctorate from the Middlesex University (London) have really set the tone for Shiamak in 2012. The highlights of the show include performances by students of Shiamak’s not for profit organization Victory Arts Foundation displaying their dance-ability; performing to Deva Shree Ganesha, students from Shiamak’s Special Potential Batch will bring the magic of professional training on stage. His graduates from the One Year Intensive Dance Certification Program (OYP) will present a Shiamak Style piece displaying their training in contemporary dance and technique. Performers at the show include students ranging from ages four to eighty four, reiterating Shiamak’s motto of “Have feet, Will Dance”.
