NAUTANKI FILMS ANNOUNCE FORAY INTO FILMS
First venture to feature Anupam Kher

12th September, 2013, Mumbai: The makers of the well-known daily soaps Madhubala and Do Dil Ek Jaan announced their first feature film starring Mr. Anupam Kher. The political satire called ‘Ekeess Topon Ki Salami’ that goes on the floors today in Patiala. From the makers of the successful shows, Madhubala and Do Dil Ek Jaan, the comedy will centre around the life of a BMC worker whose dying wish is to have a martyr’s last honour.

With plans to release the movie mid – 2014, Nautanki Films, the producers of the movie are thrilled to produce their first film with such a talented actor. Mr. Saurabh Tewari, Director and Co-founder - Nautanki Films tell us, “The movie being a first for us, we thought it best to have a respected lead character. Mr. Anupam Kher was the clear choice for the same.”

Rahil Qazi has been roped in as the writer and Ravindra Gautam, a close friend of the Nautanki Film Directors, Abhinav Shukhla & Saurabh Tewari will direct the film. Gautam is famous on the small screen, known for his direction of many a soap including Madhubala, Uttaran and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain among others will direct Ekeess Topon Ki Salami.

“After the successful run of our television shows, Madubala & Ek Dil Do Jaan, we wanted to make films that touch audiences and allow them to lose themselves in the on-screen characters and the plots portrayed.” Said Mr. Abhinav Shukla, Director and Co-founder – Nautanki Films

The production house, Nautanki Films has brought in Divyendu Sharma (of Pyar Ka Punchnama & Chashme Baddoor fame), Manu Rishi (Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!) Aditi sharma (Mausam & Ladies vs Ricky Bahl) and Rajesh Sharma (Special 26) with Neha Dhupia in a special cameo for their first film.
