Mumbai Women’s International Film Festival (MWIFF) honours women worldwide.

he Mumbai Women's International Film Festival (MWIFF) that was organized by Oculus Creations from  8th to 14th Oct 2013 had Saroj Khan, Nandita Das, Shibani Kashyap, Deepa Bhatia in its Closing ceremony.
Shabana Azmi alos accepted the 'MWIFF Award of Excellence'.
The dignitaries from the industry were felicitated.

The 7day long event, Mumbai Women’s International Film Festival (MWIFF) organized by Oculus Creations concluded on 14th October 2013. The week-long event had screened 210 films from across 70 nations and had given women filmmakers an international platform to screen their talents.

Saroj Khan, the ace choreographer of the Bollywood industry added a charm to the closing ceremony of the Mumbai Women’s International Film Festival (MWIFF) with her presence. ‘The initiative that has been taken for women by Oculus Creations is appraisable. The Bollywood fraternity respects the women filmmaker, long live women power’, says Saroj Khan who was felicitated with ‘MWIFF Award of Excellence’ at the festival.

Nandita Das, renowned actress and director of Bollywood who was felicitated with ‘MWIFF Award of Excellence’ at the festival said, ‘I am very happy that a festival like ‘Mumbai Women’s International Film Festival’ had been organized. The percentage of women filmmakers in the industry is very less. I am very happy that women directors, women cinematographers, women editors and all the women technicians who work behind the camera are being felicitated and their work is being showcased at different places in Mumbai from the past one week and I’m also glad that my film ‘Firaaq’ was a part of it.’

Deepa Bhatia, the editor of films, ‘Kai Po Che’, ‘Student of The Year’, ‘My Name Is Khan’ was also felicitated with ‘MWIFF Award of Excellence’ and she expressed her delightedness and said that she is happy that Oculus Creations came with such a concept to uplift the women filmmakers .
Stealing the hearts of the audience and grooving them to her beats was Shibani kashyap, the well-known playback singer of industry, who also the sung her famous song ‘Sajna Aa Bhi Jaa’.   She was also felicitated with ‘MWIFF Award of Excellence’.

Shabana Azmi, Alankrita Shrivastava and Samruddhi Porey  also accepted the ‘MWIFF Award of Excellence’.    
The festival awarded a total of 30 awards. Women filmmakers from within and outside the country were honored for their role in cinema thereby encouraging and motivating them to come ahead and take the spotlight they deserve.
