The Saree Song sung by Nakash with music by Pritam for Prabhu Deva's R.. Rajkumar

The Saree Song by Nakash Aziz

Hindi films are replete with innocuous lyrics about clothing and accessories so it wont come as any surprise to you that the latest film to join that ridiculous bandwagon is none other than Shahid kapoor-Sonakshi starrer 'R.. Rajkumar' directed by Prabhu Deva.

You might recollect previous numbers like ‘Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka’, ‘Mera Jhoota Hai Japani’ or even the obscene  number like ‘Choli Ke Piche Kya Hai’, etc. all these songs have one thing in common - their reference to clothes of the lead artiste. Hindi film music aficionados have always liked those songs in which a dupatta, Topi, chunari or choli get serenaded while the hero does his best to woo the seemingly reluctant heroine. That these silly ditties have become chartbusters and newest wannabes continue to proliferate at regular intervals - should not come as any surprise.

‘Saree Ke fall sa,’ the catchy song/potential hit from the soon to be released film ‘R…Rajkumar’ sung by the upcoming singing sensation Nakash Aziz, is the latest to join that august company.  The song's popularity has increased so much that the singer Nakash is on cloud nine. He says,  ‘I am excited that my song has received such a great following. I am honored by the avid listener  response to my song. We hope to rekindle the trend of the sixties .. of songs like ‘hawa mein urta jaye’  etc. It's been several years since we had a song of that calibre and I sincerely hope that 'Saree... ' becomes as significant, popular and as memorable as that. "

Nakash Aziz also thanked his  mentor /Favorite music director Pritam, ‘I am so grateful to Pritam Da, who was willing enough to  give me a chance to sing this song. I am also grateful to  director Prabhu Deva who filmed the song very beautifully, and Shahid Kapoor for having  performed the dance so evocatively.’
