MPAA Chairman and CEO Chris Dodd to visit India to deliver inaugural keynote address at India’s FICCI Frames
MUMBAI 5th March, 2012 - Senator Chris Dodd, Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) will be visiting India to deliver the inaugural keynote address at India’s 2012 FICCI FRAMES which will be held from 14 – 16 March. Senator Dodd will address a significant audience of government officials, film and entertainment industry leaders, and key media at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Center Hotel, in Mumbai, India. During his maiden visit to India as Chairman and CEO of MPAA, the Senator is scheduled to meet government officials, film and entertainment leaders to discuss further strengthening of ties between two of the largest movie industries of the world, Hollywood and the Indian film industry. Senator Dodd, who took over stewardship of MPAA in March 2011, is also scheduled to meet with students of the world renowned film school, Whistling Woods International and participate in an exclusive presentation of the LA India Film Council, an initiative to develop and strengthen motion picture production, distribution, technology, content protection and commercial cooperation between the city of Los Angeles, the home of Hollywood and the Indian film industry.
On his upcoming visit to India, Senator Dodd said “I am looking forward to visiting India, a country rich in culture and heritage and the world’s largest producer of films. Cooperation and collaboration remain crucial to promoting and protecting film communities across the globe. I hope to build on the relationship we have established with the film industry in India and strengthen these bonds so that together we can face new challenges, chiefly movie theft which continues to plague our industries undermines innovation, creativity and threaten the livelihoods of millions of people.”

Former United States Senator Chris Dodd is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc., which serves as the voice and advocate of the U.S. motion picture, home video and television industries around the world.
