The George Washington University seeks to collaborate with WTC Mumbai

Linda A Livinstone the Dean and Elizabeth H Mitchell, the Assistant Vice President of The George Washington University visited the World Trade Centre Mumbai to discuss future collaborations in the field of education. George Washington University is among the top five universities for the business progamme in US.

Livingstone said she saw potential in two broad sectors of collaborating with the World Trade Centre, keeping in mind entrepreneurship that is prevalent in India.
“We see three broad areas for collaborating in starting courses in Smart Cities, a business course in Capital Markets and Entrepreneurship in growing economies. While we may begin the pilot project in an African country, we would like to take it globally and India is a huge potential,” said Linvingstone.

Livinstone informed that among the 2200 foreign students enrolled in their Uiversity, the highest number are from India and with a growing population in India, they would like to start courses in India for the students here. The George Washington University also wishes to collaborate with the Government of India on the Sports Administration course.
In his welcome address Vice Chairman Vijay Kalantri spoke of the vast potential in the small businesses and entrepreneurs of Maharashtra and the support World Trade Centre can give. Kalantri highlighted the Government is giving a lot of emphasis to these sectors and also tremendous opportunities are available.

Shivaji Daund, IAS, Managing Director, MSSIDC also spoke of the possibilities of employment that these courses can help generate. Y R Warerkar, Executive Director felicitated the officials of the university.
