Kamat Condemns BJP Government’s attempt to raise the Rents in Mumbai.
Mr Gurudas Kamat former Union Minister, General Secretary All India Congress Committee and Member Congress Working Committee has condemned the attempt of the BJP led Maharashtra State Government to facilitate Landlords to impose huge Rents by bringing in the amendments to the Rent Act.
Mr Kamat said that lakhs of families and small Commercial establishments will be driven out if these huge rents are imposed, thereby facilitating Landlords/Builders to exploit and redevelop these properties.
Mr Kamat alleged that the BJP was two-timing the Electorate by the Housing Minister representing the Government on one hand and the BJP MLAs Lodha and Raj Purohit speaking in different voices on the other.

Mr Kamat stated that the recent decisions of the BJP led Government in Maharashtra and the Center clearly indicate their bias in favour of landlords/Big Builders and the Congress Party condemns these attempts to burden the poor and middle class due to these Policies.
