Successful First Public Screening of Rajat Kapoor’s unreleased debut film, Private Detective: Two Plus Two Plus One organized by Drishyam Films’ THE MASTERS

~Debut film of Oscar winner, Resul Pookutty as a sound designer who also has an interesting cameo in the film~

Mumbai, 28 January 2016: The first public screening of Rajat Kapoor’s unreleased debut film, Private Detective: Two Plus Two Plus One (1997) organized by THE MASTERS received an overwhelming response from the audience.

A unique initiative of Drishyam Films, which aims to showcase rare films of India's finest cinematic talents, was launched in October with a successful first screening of Sriram Raghavan's Raman Raghav.

Featuring Irrfan Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Ally Khan and Kashmira Shah and Keneth Desai, this is the second film to be screened to a packed house. This was the first public screening of the film after 19 years. 

Apart from debuting as a sound designer, Oscar-winner Resul Pookutty also made his debut as an actor in a cameo role in the film.

The writer-lyricist of Masaan fame, Varun Grover moderated the screening and Q & A, which took place on January 27 at Fun Cinemas, Andheri, and was attended by the aspiring filmmakers, cinebuffs and the members of the media fraternity.

Film actors, Kashmira Shah and Keneth Desai were present along with Rajat and Munish Bhardwaj, his assistant on the film.

In an effort to give the audiences and film buffs a unique and enriching cinematic experience, Drishyam Films will continue to host screenings and interactions with noted filmmakers, actors, cinematographers, editors and producers.

Shiladitya Bora, CEO of Drishyam Films says, "Seeing Naseer, Irrfan, Kashmira and the beautifully captured Bombay of the '90s was an amazing experience for all of us. As Rajat's maiden feature film, we found a glimpse into how he first embarked upon such a successful and prolific cinematic journey. And after receiving such a heartwarming audience response, we can't wait to plan the next round of The Masters."
