#FCCI declares winners of #CriticsChoice #BestShortFictionfilm and #BestDocumentary Awards at #SASFF2018


The Film Critics Circle of India (FCCI) EC meet held on 25 November 2017 in Goa, installed the Critics Jury in the 1st South Asian Short Film Festival organized by the Federation of Film Societies of India (Eastern Region) from 30th March to 9th April 2018 at Nandan, Kolkata comprising of Sri Saibal Chatterjee (Delhi), Sri M K Raghavendra (Bangalore) and Sri Manoj Borpujari (Guwahati). The Jury unanimously conferred the following two awards: Critics Award for Best Short Fiction: Statement After My Poet Husband's Death/ Bangladesh/ Bengali/ 2016/15M/ Dir. Tasmiah Afrin Mou. Critics Award for Best Documentary: Liquid Borders/ India/ English/ 2015/ 40M/ Dir. Barnali Ray Shukla. The awards comprised of a 3D solid metal trophy in golden color designed especially for the purpose by an eminent artist from Delhi, a glass mounted citation and cash of Rs.5,000/- each. The awards were officially declared in the house by the veteran film critic Sri Nirmal Dhar, Secretary of the West Bengal Film Journalists Association and was handed over to the recipients by the eminent filmmakers Sri Sekhar Das and Sm Satarupa Sanyal respectively (photos attached). We are happy to inform that both the recipients Ms. Tasmiah Afrin Mou (Dhaka) and Ms. Barnali Ray Shukla (Mumbai) were present at Nandan on 9th April evening to grace the award ceremony by receiving the awards personally.
