Picks&Piques/Snippet Film reviews/2ndMay2014/Johnson Thomas

Kya Dilli Kya Lahore(Hindi) Rating: *  * ½  attempting  ‘No Man’s Land’ but falling way short of dramatic territory, this film directed by and starring Vijay Raaz lacks clear-cut direction and story and veers into heavy-duty smaltzy nostalgia, to be satisfying.

Purani Jeans (Hindi)Rating: *  * ½ This Youthful bromantic drama has decent performances and music but the emotional connect is lacking!

Kahin Hai Mera Pyar (Hindi) Rating: *  A wild goose chase, this one uses the Adam and Eve metaphor (in shabby form)to justify it’s confounding premise!

The Amazing Spider-man 2(English/3D/Imax/Dubbed in regional languages) Rating: *  *  *  Too wishy-washy a storyline that’s hung-up on romance. It’s Not quite the fulfilling experience one was waiting for, but nevertheless has sporadic bursts of frenetic energy, stunts and kinesis.

Angry Young Man(Hindi) Rating: * The titular character is emblematic of the moniker alright but doesn’t make any sense at all!
