Soulful singer #ArijitSingh performed in #Kharghar #NaviMumbai for the very first time to a sell-out audience of young and old alike. It was an evening of history making with the coming together, for the first time, of a live 50 piece symphony orchestra in concert alongside the singing sensation. The Arijit Singh Musical Concert held at Central Park, Kharghar on April 5 received an overwhelming response and was thronged by 10,000 enthusiastic fans. The event organized by #RedLettersInc was a super success what with Arijit’s super hits being performed largely in unplugged style specially catering to the young crowd of collegians assembled from all over #NaviMumbai and #Mumbai. The event also saw the singer along with Nehal Thakkar, Founder Red Letters honouring National Heroes Shri. Prem Ale and Shri. Suresh Karkis from the 'The Parapelgic Rehabilitation Center, Pune, for their recent win at the Spanish tournament for the paraplegics.

The young, diminutive, 26-year old singer, might have kept his fans waiting, but once he came on stage he set about to get the restive impatient audience on his side with a sterling display of aural gymnastics. And within minutes he had the audience eating out of his hands. Despite numerous live performances in his kitty, Arijit Singh still feels tense and nervous on the strat of every concert. He said on stage, “ performing in front of a live audience still gives me the jitters. I have done many live shows but every time I get up on stage there’s trepidation in my heart. But the audience has always been kind and appreciative and for that I am grateful.”

The show opened with contest winners from #MainBhiArijit taking the stage an hour later than mentioned in the tickets, performing the singer’s songs in their own respective styles, strictly though in amateurish fashion. An hour later it was Arijit’s turn to take centre stage and give the crowd it’s moneys’ worth in hit numbers from recent films. Arijit Singh was overwhelmed by the audience participation  and response at the concert and said "I feel honoured to receive a response like this in Mumbai. As Mumbai is the hub for celebs and artists and there are concerts happening in great numbers, I did not expect that people would come in such large numbers for a concert of this kind. The response today leaves me speechless."  The singer who came into the limelight from the humble beginnings of #FameGurukul sung his heart out rendering soulful hits such as “Muskurane Ki Wajah Tum Ho” from Citylights (2014), “Laal Ishq”, “Chahoon Main Ya Na” “Phir mohabbat” and “Tum Hi Ho”, among many others, to carve a place for himself in the hearts of many a Navi-Mumbaite.  And it was a show that will be remembered for Arijit’s haunting voice regaling the audience with romantic ballads and achy melodies that reverberate with pathos and pain.

The show went on till 10 pm and by then the singer had run through most of his memorable hit numbers and a few unheard ones. The crowd of course was more than ecstatic at the rich variety of talent and skill showcased by the singers’ superb voice and singing abilities!
