About Siddharth Diwan:

Siddharth Diwan, a graduate of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute of India (SRFTII), started his career assisting Marcel Zyskind on Michael Winterbottom’s Trishna. Soon he collaborated with Vasan Bala (who was associate director on Trishna) to début as an independent cinematographer on “Peddlers”. Peddlers received a world premiere at the Critics Week of Cannes Film Festival in 2012. Diwan did the second unit cinematography for Ritesh Batra’s “The Lunchbox”, another film that started its journey at the famed Cannes Critics Week. Diwan shot Kanu Behl’s “Titli”, the only Indian film in official selection of the Cannes Film Festival this year. “Titli” screens in the Un Certain Regard section of the festival.

Siddharth Diwan is the emerging face of new age cinematography in Indian cinema. With three of his films selected for the prestigious Cannes film festival, he is one of the best known Indian cinematographers internationally. Commercially successful “Queen” marked his foray into Bollywood this year.

Siddharth Diwan uses new age digital cameras to the advantage of his projects. His expertise lies in shooting on real locations with available light.
