#ZedPlus(Hindi) Rating: * * * a stirring pseudo-political satire with fine touches of humor and enlivening performances. On the lines of ‘Peepli Live’ but couldn’t manage the same bandwidth. The plotting though was a little too ambitious to be empathetically remunerative. #BeenaAhuja #ChandraprakashDwivedi #NiyatiMShah #AkshayMShah #AdilHussain #MukeshTiwari #MonaSingh #SanjayMishra #KulbhushanKharbanda #KKRaina #RahulSingh #MukundPurohitProductionPvtLtd #MandiraKashyap #WisdonTreeProductionsPvtLtd

#PenguinsOfMadagascar(English/3D) Rating: * * * Sugary sweet and agonizingly so. This animated Penguin’s adventure is visually exciting for the first hour or so. After that it all begins to pall. Too much of a good thing is not necessarily a good thing. Kids won’t complain though! #FoxStarEntertainment #ParagDesai #UniversalCommunications #TomMcGrath #ChrisMiller #ChristopherKnights #JohnMalkovich #BenedictCumberbatch #KenJeong #AnnetMahendru #PeterStormare #AndyRichter  #EricDarnell #SimonJSmith

English Film review
Johnson Thomas

Too much sugar and very little spice!

Film: Penguins of Madagascar(3D)
Cast(Voices): John Malkovich, Benedict Cummerbatch,Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, Conrad Vernon,Christopher Knights
Director: Michael Colton, John Aboud

Rating: * * *

Runtime: 92 mins.

Synopsis: The greatest and most hilarious covert birds in the global espionage biz: Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private, elitists of the elite, are joining forces with a chic undercover organization, The North Wind led by the handsome and husky ‘Agent Classified’ (Benedict Cumberbatch), a gray wolf and team leader. Together, they must stop ‘Dr. Octavius Brine’ (John Malkovich), a villainous and disgruntled octopus from taking over the world.

Review:
The penguins of Madagascar get a whole new film for their adventures  driven by villainous Octopus Dr Octavious Brine a.k.a Dave(John Malkovich) who wants to avenge his humiliation by eliminating the cuties who stole the show from right under his aquarium in the many zoos he got relegated to. Skipper( Tom McGrath), Kowalski(Chris Miller), Rico(John Dimaggio)and private(Christopher Knights) have to therefore team-up with a clandestine animal force called North Wind to thwart Dave’s nefarious plans.

This is a family friendly effort with a lot of bumbling and tumbling around from those adorable penguins accompanied by zany, excitement inducing pacing, inspired sight-gags and pliable verbal volleys that poke fun at Hollywood marquee names without so much as an apology. The script by John Aboud, Michael Colton and Brandon Sawyer keeps the wit to overflowing. The distinguished voicing adds irreverence  to the active tempo and ups the fun quotient. After a point- probably around an hour and fifteen minutes into the film, the excitement begins to pall and what appeared sweet and engaging just a few minutes ago tends to appear a little tedious and exhausting. Not because of any technical flaws per se but because there’s just too much sweetness infused into this enterprise and the spice quotient is dismally low. It’s obviously not a balanced diet foe excitement to be had!
