Gandhi is a 1982 epic biographical film which dramatises the life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the leader of India's non-violent, non-cooperative independence movement against the United Kingdom's rule of the country during the 20th century. Gandhi was written by John Briley and produced and directed by Richard Attenborough. The film copped eight Oscars, including two for Attenborough as best director and for producing the best picture.

Under the section Homages, the festival will also pay tribute to Pran, Bapu and Farooque Shaikh by screening Upkar, Who 7 Din and Lahore. Alongside the screening of Homages, the festival will also showcase an exciting line up of films in diverse genres from every corner of the world. The festival will feature films under several sections: Cinema of the Uprising, International Competition, Indian Showcase and Country Focus (Cyprus).

Conceptualized to bring world-class cinema to its intended audience, Jagran Film Festival, Mumbai 2014 will be bigger and better.
