As the city’s most eagerly awaited film festival, the

5th Jagran Film Festival, Mumbai 2014
 draws closer, it has been revealed that this edition of the festival will open with the film,
​​
 “The Woods Are Still Green”
. ‘The Woods Are Still Green’, is an Austrian feature film written and directed by winner of several International Best Film awards, 
​​
Marko Nabersnik.

The Woods are Still Green, is an anti-war drama set during the First World War. The film was selected for the main competition section "The Golden Goblet Award" at 
​​
17th Shanghai International Film Festival
.  This edition of Jagran Film Festival strongly focuses on world peace.

Besides, screening ‘The woods are still green’ which released in Austria on 12 September 2014, the  Jagran Film Festival 2014 presents a special section on the anniversary of the First World War with a fine selection of classic and contemporary cinema depicting the havoc and horrors of the First World War.

About The Woods are still Green:

A story about a group of Austria-Hungarian soldiers in the 1st World War. They hold an artillery post in the mountains on the southern front to Italy. The group is cut off from their own troops and under heavy artillery fire from the Italian. When the post receives a fatal direct hit from a shell, killing the comrades, Soldier Jacob Lindner and the seriously injured captain Jan Kopetzky are the only survivors of the post. Jakob has to suffer the madness of this hellish war in all its human atrocities.

Conceptualized to bring world-class cinema to its intended audience, the 5th edition of the Jagran Film Festival, Mumbai will be held from the 22nd September, 2014 to 28th September, 2014 at PVR, Andheri and Cinemax Versova. 
  • Entry to watch the opening film on 22nd September, 2014 is by invite only.
